Rheumatology

A subspecialty of internal medicine, rheumatology is the non-surgical evaluation and treatment of arthritic and rheumatic conditions and diseases, mostly involving the musculoskeletal system, and sometimes involving immune system abnormalities.

HEALTHPOINTE’s rheumatologist diagnoses and treats a wide variety of conditions that may present as unexplained skin rash, fever, anemia, weakness, weight loss, fatigue, and joint or muscle pain. Common rheumatic diseases and conditions include lupus, Lyme disease, gout, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and the many forms of arthritis.

HEALTHPOINTE is affiliated with clinical laboratories that can perform sophisticated immunologic testing needed in rheumatologic evaluation, and  we have an active physical therapy department that complements the practice of rheumatology.
