Employee Physicals

HEALTHPOINTE employee medical examinations have, at minimum, the following components:

Employee physicals occur at various times before and during employment. The following specialized examinations meet the needs of most of our clients and are only available through HEALTHPOINTE. In addition, we can develop a customized program to meet your company’s specific needs.


Pre-Placement and Executive Physicals help determine whether applicants/employees are medically and physically able to perform their roles. Pre-employment screenings can save employers time and money, while increasing the odds that a new-hire can perform in a safe and productive manner. A HEALTHPOINTE physician carefully reviews each patient’s medical and occupational history before proceeding with the physical examination.


Regulatory and Compliance Examinations help establish a medical baseline for employees in accordance with the appropriate regulatory agency (Department of Transportation, OSHA, etc.). HEALTHPOINTE performs periodic medical monitoring when indicated.


Fitness-for-Duty Examinations help confirm that employees can perform the required job duties unique to a position. We help your company match the physical demands of the job with the physical capabilities of the employee.


Employee Wellness Examinations help establish baseline medical information as part of a company’s voluntary health and wellness initiatives. Employee wellness is a key element in the productivity of an organization. We help set the standard by performing examinations and reporting critical data to company health directors.


Drug Testing and Screening—also referred to as substance abuse and monitoring services—is a key component of many companies’ risk management program. HEALTHPOINTE provides "Rapid Test" products for faster on-site testing and results. Employers can set up customized accounts and reporting plans for each work location.


HEALTHPOINTE conducts drug testing and screening as follows


  • Once employees provide their samples for testing, specimens are processed by a state-of-the-art testing lab.
  • Drug screen results are then reported to HEALTHPOINTE for review by our Medical Review Officer (MRO) for the client. Negative results are typically communicated to the client the day after collection; while positive confirmations are typically communicated within 48 to 72 hours of the screening.
  • If the sample tests positive, the MRO calls the donor for an interview.  If there is a legitimate explanation for the positive result, such as a prescription medicine, the MRO will amend the result as negative.
