Transitional Return-to-Work & Wellness Program
HEALTHPOINTE’S Transitional Return-to-Work & Wellness Program provides a structured learning environment appropriate for every occupation. The program consists of supervised (including bi-lingual supervision) 4- to 8-hour shifts that utilize safety videos, tests, and handouts in a classroom setting. The employee can be referred for as many shifts as the employer orders.
The goals of the program are threefold: (1) provide an alternative to at-home rehabilitation, (2) motivate employees to return to their regular jobs through a structured schedule and modified duty, and (3) educate employees on proper body mechanics, healthy living strategies, and injury prevention.
The Transitional Return-to-Work &Wellness Program:
- Decreases employees’ recovery time and the cost of injury claims
- Deters and reduces injuries in the workplace
- Offers employees instruction on how to avoid accidents and live a healthy lifestyle
- Promotes and prepares employees to return to their regular work duties
- Provides an alternative to staying at home
- Separates an injured employee from non-injured employees
Topics include:
- Injury prevention – back, upper extremities and wrists
- Injury prevention – slips and falls
- Proper lifting techniques
- Bloodborne pathogens
- Material safety handling
- First aid
- General ergonomics
- Drug free workplace
- Education on healthy living
The longer a rehabilitating employee stays at home, the less inclined he/she may be to actively participate in a work environment again. This can translate into delayed re-entry, negative attitude, and increased likelihood of re-injury.
HEALTHPOINTE’S Transitional Return-to-Work & Wellness Program offers a cost-effective alternative to home rehabilitation.
